The DFG’s recently published funding atlas certifies the outstanding research strength of the University of Freiburg: the DFG awarded over 250 million EUR to Freiburg researchers from 2017-2019, ranking the University of Freiburg in the TOP3 German universities on a personnel-relative basis with the University Medicine being TOP1 by far.
Furthermore, the University of Freiburg has not only recruited the most Emmy Noether fellows nationwide (2010-2019) – three of whom are PI in our CRC1425: Eva Rog-Zielinska, Franziska Schneider-Warme, Ingo Hilgendorf – but is also one of the TOP3 German universities attracting ERC-funded researchers (2014-2019) – 5 of whom are PI in our CRC1425: Nina Cabezas-Wallscheid, Barbara Di Ventura, Dennis Wolf, Olaf Groß, Peter Kohl.
